This amazing basskent is antique from the 1920's or earlier. It is handmade! It has a wood bottom, and when you turn it over, you can read, through the paint, Polarine Indiana. Polarine was a company that made quite a few petroleum products, and I think this was a box that held motor oil. If you hold it just right, you can made out Qt for quart. The piece was built to last! It is nice and sturdy, and although it was originally made for a baby, I don't believe I would put a baby in it - it would be wonderful as a display piece, or for a reborn doll. It has no breaks or damage, and the paint is nice, with lovely patina. It measures 23" x 13" at top, 19" x 10" at bottom. It stands 16" from the inside to the top of the hood. It is guaranteed antique and authentic. I have lots of great unusual vintage items for sale, so take a look! (My cat photobombed the pictures, but never sat inside it).

All items are shipped within 24 hours of payment! I try and recycle packaging materials as much as I can. I hate adding more garbage to the environment; if you receive a box from me that has been used before, I am "recycling". I will make sure it's sturdy and the item well packaged. I will ensure your item will arrive in good condition, but the box may not be pretty (or it might be - I have to buy boxes, as well). All shipping within the US is free to you. All my packages are tracked, but if for some reason you don't receive your item or it arrives broken, I will refund your money.
