This is a sweet cradle that my parents had in their antique shop (with a 5 price tag) in the late ‘70s. It was given to me as a wedding gift in 1980, and our only child slept in it for the first two weeks of their life in late 1987. (We moved them to a crib because our kid was a scooter, and I was fearful that they’d get stuck, even though I had tied on cradle linens to prevent that.
Before & after that, I displayed my Antique & vintage doll & teddy bear collection in the cradle.
But for the past 10 years or more, this lovely piece has been in storage in our attic. Our kid does not plan to have children, and none of our young family members seems to want it, thus I’m offering it for sale in the hopes that someone can put it to good use.

The walnut has been hand tooled. You can tell by looking at it closely. There are 4 uprights on each end supporting the Bent Wood at the end of the cradle.
There are heavy duty springs attached at the base of the cradle to the cradle itself. These springs were frequently used in Victorian cradles. Makes for easy baby rocking.
The wood probably needs lots of love and oiling, and there’s some scuffs of white paint that can be seen on one of the end rails (oops. I did it!).
This is a lovely Antique heirloom piece.
