Kenwood TL-922A Ham Radio Tube Linear Amplifier (works well, covers 17/24/10)

Description

This amp is in pretty good cosmetic condition with only a few small scuffs/scratches. One meter lamp is out and will need to be replaced. The amp runs well and has Rich Measure's parasitic suppressor kit installed, along with some new capacitors underneath the chassis (see photos). It's very clean inside. The amp was modified by the previous owner to cover 17, 24, and 10. It currently has two RF parts 3-500Z tubes installed (different printing but identical construction). On 40 meters with 75 watts of drive, we're getting about 750 watts out (CW). For SSB, we're getting about 900 watts out on 60 watts of drive. The amplifier is currently wired for 120VAC.
This is important.
The previous owner replaced the cooling fan. Although it's a little noisy, it really keeps the tubes cool. However, he powered from an external 120VAC source. You can either continue to use an external 120VAC source for the fan, or if you're knowledgeable enough, you can try to wire it into the amp.
Either way, you'll need to ensure the fan is powered, else you're sure to over-heat the tubes and potentially damage the amp.
We've shipped hundreds of heavy amplifiers and I can assure you that it'll reach you in good condition. I can take the tubes out if you like, but I would personally recommend leaving them in. They are tight in the socket and are not going to come out. To be safe, we've padded them with foam inside the amp. If you opt to take them out and ship them separately, the odds of them being damaged increases. Think about it... a small box shipped with any carrier (USPS, FedEx, UPS) is going to get tossed around a lot more than one that weighs nearly 80lbs. But, as I said, it's your call and I'll do whatever you prefer. The feet have also been removed from the amp for safe shipping.

We only use new (never recycled) packaging materials and have invested in a 00 InstaPak foam-in-place system for use on larger items. Rest assured, you'll receive your item in excellent condition!

RETURNS:

We will provide you with a prepaid shipping label, however it is your responsibility to ensure that the item is well protected. If a returned item is found to be damaged or incomplete (missing parts/accessories), we reserve the right to issue a partial refund. Also, the original shipping paid at checkout will only be refunded if the order was found to be not as described. If you've ordered the wrong item of simply changed your mind, we will not reimburse the cost of shipping the item to you.
